To: All Project Hestia Operatives
From: Billy Deva, Team Leader Hestia Asia/Pacific
I was deeply saddened today to hear on the news of Amber "Tracer" MacAllister death and, on behalf of the Project Hestia Asia/Pacific management team, I would like to offer her coworkers, friends, and family my sincere sympathy and condolences.
Tracer was highly respected by managers and employees alike through out this company, and was loved by millions of fans across the world. Her selfless contributions to Project Utopia's mission over the past couple of years were many and varied. Recently, she was a key player bringing Project Hestia's work to the forefront of Utopia's endeavors, securing critical funding for our work and guaranteeing that no new nova be left behind. Tracer, your heartfelt work for our project will not soon be forgotten.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time. Knowing her personally during our very brief collaborations on the Bhutan affair the XWF charitable fundraiser was an incredible honor, and I regret not getting to know her better or work on further collaborations with her. I am well aware of the difference she made in the lives of many people, both here with the project and in her personal life. She will be missed, but if she were here today I'm sure she'd want us to go on and continue our project's important work in her name.
With sincere sympathy,
Billy Deva, Team Leader of Project Hestia Asia/Pacific

N!terview

When N! last spoke to Billy Deva, in January 2008, he had just stepped down as Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and announced his recent appointment to Asia/Pacific head of Project Utopia's Hestia division. N! Reporter Anibal Guevara conducted this followup interview in Billy Deva's home in Calcutta.
Did the President talk to you about the cabinet post?
You've got to understand Anibal, its really hard for business guys like me to go back to working for someone after being chief executive all these years. Going from the leadership position of India's central bank to just a guy on another person's team isn't a transition I could easily make at this point in my professional life.
Slurpee?
Yes, thank you. You just created that machine out of thin air. That's amazing!
Yes, and you can imagine the conflict of interest it created with my India Reserve Bank governorship. I mean... everybody knows that banks create currency, but nobody was ready for a nova that could just create bricks of gold out of thin air. Much less skyscrapers and private aircraft. I was a potential nuclear bomb to the entire international commerce apparatus, so I didn't really have any ethical choice but to step down. Thankfully, Project Utopia accepted my offer to head their Hestia Asia/Pacific division, and the rest is history.
Let's talk about that. You've received a lot of criticism in the media lately for recklessly endangering the lives of three Hestia operatives and exacerbating border tensions between Bhutan and China. Care to comment on that?
Yes, that was a very unfortunate situation and we were lucky that things ended up working out as well as they did. Project Hestia's American division did an incredible job extracting out agents and foiling the terats' attempt to recruit Zhabdrung into their movement. The accusation that our agents' assignment recklessly endangered them is preposterous. Assigning three novas the task of dealing with a single rogue nova is perfectly reasonable. It was unfortunate that we had no way of knowing Zhabdrung's true power level until it was too late.
Since erupting last year you have risen to become one of the Teragen's most outspoken critics. What are your thoughts on the Nul Manifesto?
The Nul Manifesto is often presented as something new and thought provoking, but its really just the latest manifestation of a recurrent philosophical narrative. The belief in one's tribe's 'chosen' status is as old as civilization itself. The Jews used this belief to survive thousands of years of persecution to eventually form their own state. What are Karl Marx's proletariat or Democracy's citizens if not members of similar 'chosen' tribes. Divis Mal is just plagiarizing old ideas and reselling them. I'm not impressed.
Very interesting. Do you believe that these outspoken criticisms of yours were partly to blame for the recent Teragen attack on your residence here on Calcutta? Its very hard for me to believe that the mansion we're interviewing in was raised to the ground just a week ago.
Yes, I have to admit that I found the attack somewhat amusing. I can't think of anything more futile than trying to destroy the property of a master of matter manipulation. The police are still conducting their investigation. Until they confirm the identity of the nova arsonist I'm reluctant to speculate. The attack seems like a Teragen retaliation, but they haven't taken responsibility. The attacker could very well be an independent or just a teragen sympathizer. I won't comment any further until the police work is complete.
Lets move on to your personal life. You recently reached a divorce settlement with your ex-wife Pratma Govida, and have since become a strong advocate for the Queer Nova Alliance. Is there anything you want to tell the N! audience today?
My work with the Queer Nova Alliance is based on my moral values, nothing more. Novas have the power to move mountains and to fly to the stars. The idea that two novas that love each other can't legally marry is just preposterous and outdated. The deaths of prominent publicly homosexual novas like the Houston Tornado concern me a great deal. While we novas are certainly not a 'one race' we are role models to people across the world. We can selfishly indulge out whims or we can save the world.
As for my private life, it is simply that... private.
Well, that's all the time we have today. Thank you again for appearing on our show.
Thank you Anibal. It's been a pleasure.
